About Carry Farm
Carry Farm is located 2 miles south of the village of Kames and Tighnabruaich on the
Ardlamont peninsula.
60 acres of coastal wilderness with private access to a diverse shore.
Abundant flora and fauna enriched by a lack of intensive farming, recognised with the
attainment of a Silver David Bellamy Conservation Award 2005. Deer, red squirrels,
badgers, bats, seals, porpoises, otters, basking sharks, dolphins and an impressive
variety of birds, including Hen Harrier and Owls (see bird list link).
A circular shore walk is the perfect length for an early morning dog walk.
Carry Farm has a secure, rustic playpark for younger children.
Small scale introduction of hebridean sheep, a rare breed indigenous to Scotland.
Hebridean sheep are tough, hardy animals that thrive on heathland and are a premier
breed for conservation grazing.
Free range hens provide a local supply of superb eggs.
During the summer months Tighnabruaich Sailing School operates from the sheltered
bay.
The Dairy’ summer tearoom and ‘craftshelf’ provides excellent home-baking
alongside beautiful one off crafts produced at Carry Farm, sock wool and needles,
including hand-spun wool from our hebridean sheep and a discerning choice of
objects.
"Fantastic weather, wonderful holiday, lovely kind hospitality. Hope to be back."
